Midnight Message

Midnight Message

A Poem by Baby Ricochet
"

A few random thoughts before the weekly grind

"
A gecko's crawling up my wall
Chasing after roaches
I scratch my cat under her chin
My mouse pad she encroaches

My girlfriend's drifting off to sleep
I guess I'll join her soon
We have to go to work tomorrow
So we can't sleep till noon

The daily grind of peace time life
has it's precious moments
Civilian life's a constant strife
Takes lots of adjustments

Though I'm not the suicide type
I know why veterans crack
We were the s**t when we were there
We're nothing when we're back

No I'm not a suicide type
My motto's simple hymn
Hajji couldn't f*****g kill me
I'm not doing it for him

Sometimes are minds can be our own worse enemy or ally. Determination to see it through and a little love … and there you go.

Something like that. Thanks Pryde
Oh this is powerfull. I couldn't begin to understand the strength of the feeling here. I won't even try to say one of them "Oh yeah I know what you are going on about" in fact not many could. But the journey in this writing gos from the mundane to the banal to the transitory to contemplating death only in a few lines.

It took me by surprise

Thankyou

And he can see no reasons, 'cause there are no reasons
What reason do you need to be shown?
Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays
Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays
Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays
I want to shoot the whole day down

Yeah! Best Monday song ever.
I would never believe you to be the suicidal type. You're not that easy to crack.

You are so right. I can imagine how hard to adjust to civilian life and normal circumstances. At least you are not the suicidal type. Excellent...:).......

You are welcome...:)..................
This is really good, and sums up the mundane and the struggles of living a civilian life after active duty as a soldier. It is a powerful and uplifting, truthful poem.

I'll change it that's
nightime haunts a lot of us...it allows the mind to wander when everything slows down... memories find a way of creeping in and taking us places...... I volunteer at local veteran's hospital and love listening to the stories.. a lot of them have the same theme... so hard to adjust mind, emotions to "normal life".when they get back.... never the same.... this one is such a real, uplifting, empowering write.. well done..

True words my friend.
"The daily grind of peace time life
has it's precious moments
Civilian life's a constant strife
Takes lots of adjustments"
Took me five years to lose my want for perfect line, planned mission and hard work. Don't happen in the real world. I miss "get it done and move on." Always outstanding poetry my friend.

I've been out since 08 and I'm still adjusting.

I still struggle a little. I still dislike people who want everything for free.
