A Poem by

yep
Don't you remember
When they said Support the troops
Long since forgotten
We were yesterdays heroes

We have some similar situations over here. I think the difference is that over here it makes the national news and usually gets sorted to the benefit of the ex soldier.
It makes you wonder if governments see our young men as, quote from Space troopers, " meat for the machine."

Thanks for stopping by sir
It's truly a tragedy that soldiers are sent out to fight a war and come back only to fight yet another in their homeland, against the adversity of the people who once paraded their veteran status as one of honor now putting it down to shame. Hypocritical of the people, and if only they'd refrain from blaming the soldiers when they should be diverting their rage and frustration to the government, as often the fault does not lie in the soldiers who were sent out, but in the ones who sent them out originally. Well done.

This one hit home for me. My baby girl, only 7, asked to raise money for hurt soldiers -- I have taught her well.
