I saw a camp survivor speak. I cried. What those people endured from death to survival was horrible. No one really hears about it but Russia was doing the same type of thing. The US was just allies with them and they do't want to teach it in schools.

I know you are writing about those who deny the atrocities of WWII here, but it applies to so many points in history that it's scary. As a Ranger at Independence Park, my husband has to deal with tourists who think they "know" what the founding fathers wanted (of course, it reflects what they themselves are for or against...) Human history... painted in shades of dishonesty since the dawn of time... Great senryu here.

There are holocaust deniers out there. The most well know being Iranian prime minster and United Nations laughing Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Unfortunately in the Middle East holocaust denial is the norm, not the exception so crazy Mahmoud is just echoing what his people believe. Israel IE Jews are evil and that's why Israel has to survive.

Americans and Europeans know that but in the middle east they prescribe to a wildly different version of history. I'm sure as soon as they heard about the MH17 disaster your average middle eastern person assumed Jews did it. It's just how they think. The feud between Jews and virtually everyone else in the middle east is a 20th century thing. Before Israel was a state there were very few Jews in the region to be pissed off at so no feud. The Arab world was humiliated by the brutal defeat delivered to their armies by Israel in the six day war (yep. It only took six days for Israel to kick the s**t out of Egypt, Jordan and Syria.) Ever since then the Israelis have been kicking the Palestinians around and getting blamed for everything from the new world order to gingivitis by the rest of the Arab world and it's not likely to end any time soon. Those people can hold a grudge forever.

Revisionists?

Do you speak of those engaging in blatant holocaust denial despite the sheer amount of evidence already pointing towards its happenings (not to mention; the WITNESSES!), or the fact that Japan was completely absolved by a lot of the world for its actions in Manchuria and Korea following its surrendering to the US (because they handed over many dubious documents to the US, so says my friend, although I've not done extensive research in it so I don't have much to say for or against it) and that any references to the area are pretty much absent save for a few sentences explaining how a US ship in Manchuria at the time was bombed in that area with all those on board killed.

Regardless of what you speak of, the senryu itself is already heavily burdened with history, each word exemplifies that same feeling. Well done.
