stuck

A Poem by Baby Ricochet
"

Where I've been lately

"
I'm stuck here again
Memories I can't control
The meds don't help
I'm tired of therapy
What was expected of us
They never told us
How to live with it

When your inner child
is horrified
By what you did
What do you tell him
When It's not okay
It's what it feels like
A terrified child
who will never be
okay

War is as old as human existence that doesn't make it any less painful. Literally million of men and some women have been where you are. If you can forgive all those who came before you, you must forgive yourself. You didn't know any better. Hold that inner child dear and soothe him. You carrying around the guilt only adds to the pain of war. Feel better, friend.

War is a contract with hell and nightmares for the rest of your life. When I see WW2 vets crying at an anniversary it doesn't surprise me. You've gone through hell dude. There are no pills to escape the flashbacks. Other than that, I'm at a loss for words.

You have my empathy - forgiveness is hard but by forgiving yourself, you forgive the past and make room for the future - acceptance comes before forgiveness...I hope you can be lighter on yourself, hugs x

The Wall Street thugs are waging wars everywhere on one false pretext or the other.

Very much beyond my own experiences and difficult to understand that this goes on. Your writing is very strong.

Moving read. Great portrayal of the anxiousness, sadness and desperation within.

I can't even imagine how this must feel - the guilt one has to endure every single day. My heart goes out to you.

I have no words for this one, sir! Only sadness inside that it became this way...
