this is a deep one, not that I am surprised. the call to prayer probably means different things to different people. For me it would be something more ominous I suppose than comforting. Like a haunting and not a calming remembrance of sound.

This was specifically about the call to prayer on Fridays in Iraq. That's the day everyone poured into the Mosques then came out all fired up and spoiling for a fight with us. Most of the biggest ambushes we got hit with were over the weekend so we went out in force on those days to draw the enemy out. It worked damn near every time too. So to this day when I close my eyes I hear the call to prayer.
