The GOP Won't Feed old Devil Dogs

Last week house Republicans lead by Mitch Mcconnell blocked a bill that would have expanded benefits for veterans thus effectively saying to us "thank you for your service, chumps."

To Republicans who voted no 

on veterans benefits 

You sent us to your phony wars

you f*****g hypocrites 

What happened to your hero worship 

support our troops old line

Back when we were killing hajjis 

that crap worked just fine 

Now were home and maladjusted

with missing legs and arms

it's not a great employment skill

expert with firearms 

You hand out billions in tax breaks

to your corporate masters

and throw us vets under the bus 

like unwanted b******s 

Your grand flag waving rhetoric

was nothing but a lie 

We were just your cannon fodder 

You planned to crucify

You lied to us and stabbed our backs

you sniveling little s***s

You used us for your dirty work 

and now we're just misfits

I fought for the pride of the Corps and for the real America. Not for the flag waving, backstabbing hypocrites who sent us on their fools errand only to betray us when we came home. They get voted into power to "represent" the people then do nothing but sell us out over ideology and big corporate interests. May a pox be on both their houses. Oh wait, they're already is. I truly hope the GOP f***s up even more to antagonize all of their supporters; given what they did with the government shutdown and their unwillingness to expand from their traditional beliefs, I doubt they have any long-term lifespan ahead of them.
Just another reason the GOP is terrible to today's society, needed at one point in history but no longer. Well done, Baby R, always speak the truth.

The Tea party pulled them to far to the right hence their willingness to shut the government down over Obamacare even after the supreme court said it was constitutional. There's a rift in the GOP now between the old school conservatives and the tea party and I suspect the old line GOP will hedge them out by 2016. They're going to have to if they don't want to run one of their crackpot hopefuls for president. If the GOP would just stop denying science and lose the religious right they'd be a much more palatable party but don't expect that for a while. A generation of voters have to die off first.

I believe the same thing was once said of slavery in the way all of its supporters and their children would have to die before slavery would truly be abolished from ideals, although I can't quote it verbatim at the current moment.
Interesting theory though, it's difficult to find anything from a neutral perspective these days when both wings are busy antagonizing each other.

I've read a few articles about this country's shift away from Christianity more towards secularism. I think 9/11 was the first big loss for the religious right in the respect that the whole world saw what religious zealots were capable of then the westburo baptist military funeral protests, to name two of many religious nut job public relations fiascos. The recent veto of the gay hate Arizona bill was another big loss for the right. Republicans are going to be treading lightly around that kind of legislation in the future.
