Some say there's a war on Christmas 

and liberals are at fault

They want to take baby Jesus

and lock him in a vault

Kick virgin Mary to the curb

Stuff Joseph in a box

The wise men they are outa here 

A Christmas of hard knocks

Fox news points accusing fingers

at the liberal elite

Those evil commie atheists

who ruined Santa's treat

Obama is their Muslim stooge

He's working for the Jews 

who want Menorahs everywhere 

So Christians get confused

So no one knows the difference

from secular or saint

So It all just blends together

In one big non-restraint 

Christmas is a time of excess

Capitalism's dream 

With retail madness everywhere 

Sometimes it seems obscene 

An economic holiday

tied to recovery

of a bank lending disaster 

Epic catastrophe 

We pay for Christmas all year round

and as the years go by

we're sucked into a system 

In debt until we die

The war on Christmas is a farce

Stores will do anything

To get you to plop money down

So registers will ring 

Wal Mart's decked with Christian symbols

The Christmas music blares

The place is full of Christian themes 

and I don't bloody care

Like anyone who has a brain 

I can smell crapola

from conservative malarkey 

Political payola

Make an issue out of nothing 

Stir up the stupid hordes

Who's xenophobic fear of change

make ballot box rewards 

Whatever Christmas means to you 

The choice is yours to make 

The birth of someone's Savior

or retail on the make 

The choice is strictly personal 

So knock off all this crap 

About a war on Christmas

It's nothing but claptrap

A war on Christmas, that statement alone screams with laughter and a clear need for Bill O'Reilly to get laid immediately, not that any elf respecting xmas box would let that scrooge into it. It's about time that people like him realise there is no war on the holiday of Christmas, there's a war against the church, leave this mostly happy time alone, enjoy it for what it is, and leave the intellectual toing and froing to the academic, great piece love! and by the way, Merry Christmas my darling, I adore you. x

While I don't know what Bill O'Reilly said, this is another great poem which starts off with a fine image and a funny first verse and keeps the quality of the humour and polished writing to the end - a constant in your work: polished and well-thought out, besides being great comedy or often satire in verse. Nice work, sir.

Bill Oreilly is a conservative political pundit on fox news who claims there's a liberal war on Christmas because of the PC term "Happy Holidays." Something about "the liberal elite" needing to decentralize religion to create the Godless secular utopia Obama has been implementing on good American folk (he means white people) ever since he came to power. It's just more FOX network conspiracy bullshit.

What people don't realize that Christmas is just the war effort that keeps our economy going; the religion is just gravy. We have a cartoon of two kids sitting outside the principals office in our teacher's work room. Once says to the other what are you here for? He says, "I said f**k you." The other asks so what did you do. He says, "I said Merry Christmas." Being politically "correct" has become an absolute joke. Enjoy the nativity scene as much as you enjoy Santa and his elves, light a menorah and carry a diwvali clay pot filled with light if you want and get over yourselves. Find personal reasons to connect to the joy and leave and the tinsel in the street. Happy Happy Baby.

But, love, it's what a great many individuals do that makes Christmas real and is how we celebrate that's in our hands and hearts.
