If only we could write just the funny ones and you are the master of that genre. But you also write from somewhere deep, from horrific experiences that move your reader. Either way your poems are always pretty compelling and I read this stanza out loud to my husband as I laughed:
There is no writer in my soul
All that's just so Cliched
and if you truly feel that way
you need to go get laid
The passion oozes out between each line of another cracking poem Rico, the same way it draws you to the gym to pump them 'guns' or when you get that urge to tap your good ladies backside, so I wouldn't dismiss your obvious literacy talent as just a bit of fun!
I so disagree with you on this one Mark, you can't tell me those tons of writing you do on war and your experiences there are fun ones to write, you write those to purge, and they're from your heart, soul and guts as far as I can see, the fun one's are the icing on poetry....
Quite humorous and entertaining indeed! You know what they say: "Madness would be a fine person to bed." Nonetheless, I do find romanticizing your own career could make you say such things. Well done.
One of the best selling authors out there said that she works at writing like you work at a job, and Edison is quoted as saying "genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration." Ink can never replace blood as the fuel for the heart, and the heart is where true poetry lives. IMHO Another great poem, BR. I always know I will be laughing out loud when I've finished a poem of yours, and with this one all I had to do was look at the graphic and I was hee hawing!
I like this because it says what I've often felt. I don't write from my heart and soul. No one is interested in those. I just arrange words in some sort of (I hope) entertaining order.
In the days when I preferred to eat rather than seek the art of writing, I wrote two erotic books, PILAR and SASHA. Stange, they brought in more money than all those labored hours of trying to compose something memorable. So I understand what you're saying and maybe the experience left me as demented as now I am. Well done my friend, light and crafty and fun to read and read again.

Nice,
Tact and wit, never ceasing to bring the practical. I won't go on the topic of perspective as it is a long winded conversation with me. Nice write and it ended well. I was a bit shakey when I first started reading, failed to catch the flow. By the way where did you find that pic of me, before our fam vacation?

I write just for the hell of it
A way to spend some time
Blurting out in cyber space
Whatever's on my mind
Maybe funny maybe tragic
Emotional and raw
Politi.. more..
