Tribal Mind

Tribal Mind

A Poem by Baby Ricochet
"

Old ways in the modern world

"

Reflections of the tribal mind
and desert deities
Where vengeance is a fact of life
from ancient history

Eye for eye and tooth for tooth
The laws of ancient days
In the land of Cain and Abel
Where God has vengeful ways

Where ethnic tensions settle scores
in cycles of revenge
Where feuds are never ending
a reason to avenge

Reflections of the tribal mind
and desert deities
Where innocence is brutalized
by tribal rivalries

Invaders crossed the holy lands
and crumbled into dust
Lost in swirling sands of time
turned into slag and rust

Where demigods and despots
Rule people with the lash
Their rein ends in disaster
the tribal mind's backlash

Reflections of the tribal mind
and desert deities
Where endless cycles of revenge
unleash insanity

Where no one has immunity
To laws of give and take
The tribal mind will never end
Their fate is what they make

Brother you have a gift for poems like this. You can write anything but when you write poems like this you eat up the page. As you know it is a game of slaughter over here and they are set on wiping each others faction out. Sadly it is their belief and culture that tells them this is the way.

Wow. This is so powerful and full of imagery. Humans are flawed aren't we? However, this poem is perfect

A poem brutal in it's frankness, creative in it's portrayal of the law of the jungle, still revered by many cultures and civilizations, though there's nothing civil about it !

That's for sure. Thank you Tom
The speaks to the ancient and brutal dispensation of "justice." This was really fabulous and your rhyme helped to push your points home:

Invaders crossed the holy lands
and crumbled into dust
Lost in swirling sands of time
turned into slag and rust
