Oklahoma

A Poem by Baby Ricochet
"

For the people of Moore Oklahoma.

"

My heart was broken in Oklahoma
Jewel of the Midwest
A twisted hand screamed from the sky
and ripped it from my chest

My broken body was smashed to pieces
Thrown down on the street
I was nothing but a ripped up rag doll
Cowering at her feet

My blood my bones my life's existence
The muscle under my skin
Wrapped around her indifferent fingers
trapped in her deadly spin

She doesn't know and she doesn't care
The Wind Zephyr of death
She screamed across our great heartland
She was on my last breath

There's nothing left she took it all
With her blinding fury
Disappeared into her vile black sky
Leaving dead to bury

I found out about the tragedy in Moore this morning (I live in Japan). :( This poem captures the frightening moments experienced by the victims--you did well in setting a somber tone for the reader.

The picture you used tugs at one's heartstrings...

My heart goes out to them.We all know the Midwest is a cauldron of bad weather this time of year. Of course living in Ohio anything out west tends to head east. I hope this thing is done and dissipates. I lived through the ones that hit Xenia years ago.it is a horrible feeling to be helpless. The changing weather patterns are definitely getting worse. We may see this more and more often. nature always gets her way.

Nature can be an evil b***h.
Watching the news coverage as I write this. Absolutely heart breaking...and the area was hit like this in 1999. Cant imagine what its like for the residents there. Prayers for all especially the children. :-(

For sure. Thank you A.M.S.
Your poem says it so much better than the news - you have made this tragedy feel so personal. Nature knows no limits; we are all at her mercy. Thank you for sharing this - my reminder to continue to pray for the people of Moore.
