Yes I know leprosy isn't a lung disease but it's the best line in the poem.
The dude in the photo is Morrissey. Former Vocalist for The Smiths, brilliant solo artist and voice of the lonely, miserable and disenfranchised everywhere. He's really funny at times too. Why Morrissey for this? Fuck, I don't know. I just really like Morrissey.
My Review

A pretty enough portrait of you, and I like it because you wrote how you felt and honestly laid it all out in your own style. That is the best poetry. Real. Enjoyed reading it and you do an excellent write. (I like Doors).
But thing is I know, as Tate Morgan my chum may tell you, my at times very long reviews are just a symptom of my bipolar disorder.
They therefore often result from the fact that stuff people write can move my mood so much I don't know when to stop typing.
Half of the time, I feel I may be talking complete bullshit when I review. But it doesn't seem to stop me. It's still well meant whatever the cause.
So let's keep this review as brief as possible for once and just do headlines:
1) I like the way you keep your stanzas 4 line brief and that your 2nd and 4th lines rhyme and are shorter than the 1st and 3rd;
2) If you can produce something of this standard as a quick write, I wonder what the hell a long considered write of yours would be like;
3) I like Morrissey and the Smiths too;
4) I like the attitude of the poem which is basically I don't give a flying f**k about myself, I am who I choose to be and I really don't give a s**t what you think about me.
5) On the basis of this, my first read, it doesn't surprise me your are rarely if ever out of the top writers.
6) I could quote my favourite lines back to you, but I might end up quoting the whole of it back. So I won't.
I could go on.
But best not hey? lol.
Great piece!
You take care

maybe writing poetry is the disease..and we are all afflicted by the muse---
thrive on pain, as they say...the tortured artist...
i really like this poem...reminds me of how sometimes people i know will read me, and then contact me to see if i am okay...as they may take every poetic situation i create as a diary...and that i must be holding a cup of poison while holding a gun to my head, with the gas on ready to go to permanent sleep after getting the poem written...
sometimes we just create...we use past situations like actors or actresses to conjure up emotion..
it is what we do...the writing..
and sometimes, but not always...who we are.
making ourselves miserable doesn't always translate to good poetry...but for some maybe the feeling of being the "tortured artist"---
damn intriguing reflection of many of us that you have created here, Baby.

Why thank you Jacob. I appreciate you stopping by.
I often worry that I haven't "suffered" enough to be a poet. In fact, that kept me from writing for a long time. This is a great write, amusing and with a twist!
Head nod to you. And a big smile. I found this so humorous. I've been compared to Plath a couple of times. The first time was by a professor (way back in the 80's when I thought I was going to be the next Stevie Nicks) and I was stoked - until I studied her. A formidable amazing writer who taped her babies in their room and stuck her head in the oven....uh. NO. I've had my fair share of "torment" but I am not sure that makes me a good poet. I think I'd rather be happy. i'd rather make someone laugh. The world has enough torment in it....great poem
This is a longing all artist i think will experience at some point and the conclusion at the end here- that, "I am who I am." This is the healthiest conclusion not just for yourself, but for your art; w/e it may be. Nice piece!
I write just for the hell of it
A way to spend some time
Blurting out in cyber space
Whatever's on my mind
Maybe funny maybe tragic
Emotional and raw
Politi.. more..
