excellent rant...makes me madder than hell, what this country does in the name of democracy, and as for the little people...let them starve and live on the streets while we vote ourselves another pay raise to supplement our millionaire existence with full health benefits to the grave. this country needs a f*****g enema, and we need to start with the very rich....and the corrupt political system. love it when you get me fired up, ricochet!
I do so love your passion, Ric! Wait, but I also love Wal Mart and this GD internet thingie that's putting all those other brick and mortar places we once shopped out o' business!
Uhm, noticed we've got another democratic president pressin' the bankers to relax those home loan requirements again...hang on to that AR 15...here we go again! ;)
holy skit, this is awesome, seriously. brains and brawn golly. i loved the third verse up, to me it captured the whole thing like a photograph. Your about me section sure is right, and your fun as all get out. I like how the heading describes one problem but the poem itself spans massive amounts of related stuff. I can see why chris was featuring this. Lovin ' it hun.

This is an excellent treatise on the imbalance of wealth and therefore power that has permeated our society since trickle down economics. Well written social commentary you have created here!
nicely done. the rhythm and rhyme works throughout, with a few hiccups that might just have been in my reading of it. i'd be curious to see this as an essay and not a poem. i think you have some ideas i'd like to see expounded upon.
i do have some problems with your point of view, but that's what makes the world go round. no wait. love makes the world go round. nevermind. i think elections are a far better way to go than bushmasters. do we get taken in and deceived by politicians? of course. but people are people and greed will always motivate power. that's true of democracies or revolutionary governments. there have been exceptions... gandhi perhaps. you can probably count them on one hand. so lower your expectations, accept reality, and just try to make the little world that surrounds you a little better. at least that's my philosophy. you can keep dreaming and personally work to better the world, but don't expect the powers that be to be anything more than what they are.

Thank you Bob. Definitely need to tighten the meter
My friend, this comes from all directions pointing at one position. Some of this I find is truthful and some I don't, but that is my opinion and FYI...I don't shop at Wal-mart. I am not a snob or anything like that, I just can't force myself to go into one of those stores.

Thanks for stopping by Jack. Your opinions are always welcomed here.
Well...I'm a firm believer in Capitalism, so...I guess I'm the machine against which you rage *laugh* That third stanza reeks of socialism, which, everybody knows (I hope) doesn't work...in America, everyone has the opportunity to reap the benefits of their hard work...the problem is...the liberal government gives so many handouts, hard work goes by the wayside and we have a nation of people on welfare...and that is exactly what the liberal government wants...people getting handouts tend to vote for the people giving them ;-) Meanwhile, the people who are legitimately wealthy become the enemy and that makes me angry because the legitimately wealthy earned their money--only to have some liberal socialist tell them they have to give it to somebody who did sweet f**k-all to deserve it. Naturally there are exceptions to every rule, and this is merely an example of what goes on and not the broad spectrum of my views...I just don't like socialism and I guess it puts a wild hair up my a*s xD
This is really well written, and structured, and you made your point. Well done, Baby.
Hot damn,
This is out right righteous. You blend ever so deftly the political and ominous feel of the piece, with strong satirical dress. I love your style and think it really is one of a kind in many ways. It reminds me very much of the comic stylings of acts such as Penn Jillete of Penn & Teller, yet you bring the dark humor and notions of the silent Teller. Many more could be named in their similarities. However I feel yours to be quite unique in it's balance of humor, strength, and deep concepts. To you good sir I say, Hear Hear.
"We're an arsenal for democracy
Weapons factory systems
Billions made in weapons trade
So screw the latest victims "
Favorite line it is strong, direct, and yet full of hidden and plain view mental imagery. You I say again are very talented. Thanks for the Art friend.
Sincerely
Christopher
I feel your frustration, mate. as soon as I say that, I feel guilty. As a tradesman all my adult life - and self-employed - when I had no work or was sick I earned nothing. I`m no rich man, but with what small savings I have I rely on the banks to make me more, so I`m perpetuating the system. That`s the way our Western society works. The argument is that there has to be a pool of have-nots to provide the labour to generate the wealth for all...except it never works out that way. The rich get richer and the poor stay as they are. It needs all these Moguls to have a frontal lobe transplant to remove their `greed ` syndrome` and replace it with a `give` implant, a bit like Bill Gates. Thanks for this, mate. P.

Time has proven is economic theories to be disastrous but there are those who wish to keep implementing them despite the massive class of underpaid workers they create. Ya just gotta wonder why.
