I have to take my happy pills
The Doctor gave me some
So I sit and play with myself
A wallflower I have become

My dick don't work
My junk shriveled up
I can't go out in the sun

But I'm a model citizen now
  I'm normal like everyone

Nice little pill makes me mellow
so I wouldn't hurt a fly
I'm having narcoleptic seizures
and my sex drive went bye bye

My tongue turned black
My balls turned blue
I see spots before my eyes

But I'm easy to get along with
A regular doormat kind of guy

Just take your meds as prescribed
and you'll be as happy as a lark
that's what the MD told me
and now my a*s glows in the dark

My hands they shake
My feet they quake
An Erection I can't start

But I'm so easy to relate to
Because there's nothing in my heart

So if you have extreme emotions
They'll label you with a disorder
They'll give you medication
To keep your a*s in order

They'll put you in group therapy
So you can feel like a f*****g tool
Telling a bunch of weirdos
All the crazy crap you do

My butt's plugged up
My scrotum sweats
Vowels I can't pronounce

But now I'm emotional pablum
and that's the only thing that counts

Uhhhg! God, you make some real solid sense right here! I don't ever want to be a model citizen due to drugs. That just wouldn't be the honest me, setting aside, your health concerns even.
You are very good at bringing serious debate into poetry while making the reader laugh and think and laugh again.

i used to take a drug called mellaril back in the 70's, for depression. one can achieve an erection but orgasm is impossible. i thought i was gonna lose my mind and my girlfriend thought i was a god...this poem is funny, but there is nothing cute about having your libido messed with. i always enjoy these playful writes from you but, there is a serious side to this which gets lost in the translation. well done, ricochet.

One of the drugs I was prescribed was Klonopin. It's a Benzodiazapine drug like Xanax or Valium. Within a week of taking Klonopin it was like I didn't have any emotions. No ups, no downs, no nothing. That was totally weird so I wouldn't take it. Another one was PAXIL it's an SSRI antidepressant like prozac. Within two weeks I couldn't piss so SSRI'S were out. ANother one was Serzone. I don't remember what class of drug it was but like you and the Mellaril I couldn't cum so that was out. I take 30mg of Remeron now and all I think it does is help me sleep. I think the medical profession is way to quick to hand out drugs for emotional problems. For some people yes drugs are appropriate but there's an over reliance on them.
