Fun with Psychotropic Meds and their side effects

I have to take my happy pills
The Doctor gave me some
So I sit and play with myself
A wallflower I have become

My dick don't work
My junk shriveled up
I can't go out in the sun

But I'm a model citizen now
  I'm normal like everyone

Nice little pill makes me mellow
so I wouldn't hurt a fly
I'm having narcoleptic seizures
and my sex drive went bye bye

My tongue turned black
My balls turned blue
I see spots before my eyes

But I'm easy to get along with
A regular doormat kind of guy

Just take your meds as prescribed
and you'll be as happy as a lark
that's what the MD told me
and now my a*s glows in the dark

My hands they shake
My feet they quake
An Erection I can't start

But I'm so easy to relate to
Because there's nothing in my heart

So if you have extreme emotions
They'll label you with a disorder
They'll give you medication
To keep your a*s in order

They'll put you in group therapy
So you can feel like a f*****g tool
Telling a bunch of weirdos
All the crazy crap you do

My butt's plugged up
My scrotum sweats
Vowels I can't pronounce

But now I'm emotional pablum
and that's the only thing that counts

I have to hand it to you, how brave you must be to be able to attend group therapy. I could hardly go person to person therapy! Antidepressants are b*****s, I, being on Zoloft, would know. I've heard marijuana works far better though.

Ha! I love it. So true, and SSRIs almost never work, antidepressants suck...but it's socially acceptable. Morphine is not. But if you want your depression gone, and you are responsible, Morphine will do the trick, and your c**k still works, and it's no more or less physically addictive than Prozac...it just really makes you happy, so yo might be inclined to take it more. Nice write :)

lol, how about that? too funny, the ad choices, not the med problems. if this is real for ya , and probably have been a tad bit shell shocked in your line of work, then I hope you can find a dose that would help rather than hinder, chemically imbalanced is a real issue for some folks, no shame in that but it sure makes people want for a better way to help.

Most of the clients I have in alternative healing are looking for ways to get off the meds because of the side effects. Beautiful people questioning the "norm" and boom they are medicated. I know in some cases there may be no other choice.. but to just "pop a pill" and feel better and "let's check your liver levels every 6 weeks" and boom pay the bill and look a your lost passion...lost self and fall further into the abyss.. And I'm saying boom a lot lol.. In other words ..great write on an important topic..xo

This is so true, they give people all these medications without actually testing them to see if the side effects are bad, and then they take them off the market when things get bad for everyone. Good poem about how fucked up the medical system is.

Side effects vary wildly with each person and unfortunately the only real way to see how someone is going to do on a particular med is put them on it and see how they do. Labeling people as "abnormal" for being different and over prescribing is a much bigger problem.
