When Children have to die

When Children have to die

A Poem by Baby Ricochet
"

Dedicated to Paul Wolfowitz, Danial Pearle, Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheeney, Paul Bremer, Condalisa Rice, Colon Powell, George Bush and all the Neo conservatives who insisted it was a "Slam Dunk"

"

A beautiful child had to die
For the ugly war we fought
Politicians spinning lies
The little lives it cost

May bloody bands of roses
hang upon their heads
Painful thorns of annexation
For every child dead

A beautiful woman had to die
For the brutal war we fought
Hi tech smart atrocities
is what money wrought

May darkness fall upon them
Incompetent Architects of disaster
Rose colored tinted fantasies
Is what they were chasing after

They sent us into the valley
They had no f*****g clue
They set us up and used us
and then they lied to you

If there was any justice
They'd all be up on trial
Crimes against humanity
Prosecution of the vile

They got away with murder
Thousands of shallow graves
Thousands more in misery
Innocent lives they gave

Haunting cries of vengeance
of a generation tossed aside
Civilization's broken promise
When children have to die

This is a very well written piece that leaves absolutely no ambiguity as to how you feel on the subject, and you have conveyed your thoughts most deftly. I like the anger peppered throughout, it adds the flavor of realism to the piece only you, having lived it, can provide. Well done.

Welcome

i feel what you say here, and true, a whole generation was destroyed, ask me about it, i watched my friend's house get blown up as if it was some cookie being crashed by someone's foot. Syria, Iraq, and every other country that suffered because of politicians feels like that, and you did an amazing job in penning it. it brought tears to me.

Bravo, Ricochet. This is how I feel about it, too. That war was completely uncalled for.

and how. Thanks for stopping by Sam
Powerful piece. Well written. I hope a dirty politician reads this. Good job!
Stanza six, if I'm not mistaken, "there" instead of "their"?

An honest approach that leaves the reader drained and emotional - well done, good read.

THat's what war is. People who fight get killed. Innocent people get killed. It's all about money and it's all about power, and it's never necessary.

Always my pleasure.
I read the title in my RR and couldn't breathe really, I didn't even want to read this one, as I knew it would be a killer one Mark. I have no words for the depths of this one and how affecting it is. Keep sharing, reading it was a small battle, I can't imagine living it.

Always a pleasure Mark, even when they slay me.
Very sad indeed and the fact that it is the truth makes it even harder to swallow. Very nice sir.
