Maybe her God loves lesbians

But gay men are an abberation

Showing up on project runway

Ruining the fabric of our nation

 

Old Michelle she gets it wrong

Gays would never ruin fabric

Who else can make designer threads

From crap found in an attic

 

Michelle's a loud mouthed idiot

Sacrificed her career for nothing

It doesn't matter who says what

Real gay rights are coming

 

So knock off all the bigotry

It's a stupid waste of time

Gays will wed in the USA

and America will do just fine

Well, I know nothing of the event which you reference, but I agree wholeheartedly with your ending statement. Partially since i'm bi and completely for gay rights, partially because such is the trend in society. It worked for the races, the women, and now for the gays. Go freedom.

most of my w/c friends here know my stance on gay rights. the only person michelle shocked is herself....right out of business! i love your take on this. it needed to be said. live and let live is my policy... "we hold these truths self evident, that all men are created equal, and that they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights...life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" let any man who would deny these rights stand before their creator in judgment and pay for their transgressions against mankind....here, here , baby ricochet!

Homophobia makes no sense to me. It's sex, it ought to be your business only and besides, what in the hell kind of art and fashion (that's culture) would we have without the gay creative drive and aesthetic eye? It would be pretty lame, that's for sure. As weird as this may sound I think the TV show project runway does gays a huge service. Straight America can tune in and watch openly gay men create fashion which shows part of the gay contribution to our culture. It's a beautiful thing

men who fear homosexuals are probably afraid of their true "feelings" is my opinion. the worst misconception about gays is that they are on the prowl for every available "partner" when in fact they are more choosy about who they have sex with than straight people are. it is diversity and differences which make our world so creative and beautiful. i am all for gay acceptance in our culture...it shows that, once again, America is way ahead of the rest of the world in progress.

Hell yeah...You know what's funny, though? To hear the mainstream media tell it, this is the most important issue in America right now (gay marriage) If you ask me, it's all smoke and mirrors to keep us from questioning what's really going on with our nation...the fast track certain members of the current administration are on to literally destroy the Constitution.

I have to admit, I don't know who Michelle Shocked is, but her freedom of speech is covered by said Constitution ;-) And you know me, I am all for gay rights. The main character in my book is a gay man, for Pete's sake. But she can say what she likes. She is getting what she deserves, it would appear, because as consumers, we have every right to not listen to her. (Again, I have no clue who she is)

Meanwhile, I really like the flow of this piece, and the message, naturally, especially that last stanza. Really well done!

I didn't know who she was either until a few hours ago when I heard about all the outrage her rant caused and in San Francisco of all places. I believe she can say what she wants too. I think everyone should sat what's on their minds. We can marginalize all the idiots faster that way. Thanks for the review lil milf

To wed or not to wed, the preferences of a nation do not condemn a country to misfortune. There is so much ignorance when it comes to homosexual men, and the disgraceful part is while lesbians are more widely accepted, they become something of a joke distasteful dickheads who cannot understand that their uninformed opinion does not change inevitable liberal progress. Once again you offer a deeply important truth through an overlying write of flowing, quirky substance. Loved it!

Thank you Willow. The Masculine sexual impulse has a built in aggressive nature to it feminine sexuality doesn't have. That's in large part why gay men are so much more threatening to so many people than gay women. Other than their object of desire sexually driven gay and straight men are sexually wired the same. Youth, beauty and variety are primary lusts for both. When you think about it that way and take into account the creative drive the androgynous psyche clearly has and all its artist contributions gays have made to the world homophobia makes no sense whatever.
