The Ad said

The Ad said

A Poem by Baby Ricochet
"

Truth in advertising. Oh, Really?

"
The ad said buy this car
and be the coolest man alive
         So when everyone sees you
        They'll know you have arrived

The ad said buy this Razor
and chicks will slide across your face
It's guaranteed to attract the b*****s
of the entire human and race

The ad said buy these Tampons
      and you'll never menstruate again
You can eat anything you want to
           and still attract hot men

The ad said buy this cereal
and your kids will reign supreme
              their IQ's will quadruple
and their eyes shoot laser beams

The ad said buy this smart phone
And you'll be plugged in far and wide
So you can watch porn movies
When the traffic stops your ride

The ad said buy this medication
           and your stomach won't explode
and you won't need that tattoo
for your a*s that says wide load

The ad said buy what ever the f**k we're selling
          Because we're smarter than you
You're a stupid low life peasant
So we tell you what to do

You can work for minimum wage
We know you can't afford to live
            You can still have everything
With the credit that we give

We'll tie you to our credit lines
                You'll never get away
Cause you fell into the trap
              of a 21st century slave

BoooYA! Love IT! Preach It! Live It!

Now beyond the message I enjoyed the rhythm pattern.
and the cadence, the short chop of Set and Serve help convey the message.
My only expectation shorted was it could use a bit more visual literary word play.
Maybe some re-misdirection to bring the fold back in order. Sheep are visual creatures too and imagery and hot iron branding will hep the proper message stick in place of the fickle fascination that currently plaster their perspective.

The cold truth of consumerism. Yet you....transformed it to be more humorous. Well done, Ricochet.

Political theme's are a strong one in this one. Very clear and well presented , i agree completely with it its almost nonsense how we buy into things , but then again there created with that intention to sell sell sell, its a shame really
