Gorilla

A Poem by Baby Ricochet
"

A poem about bodybuilding. The photo is of me

"
I'm six foot two
I weigh 2hundred and 65
Thanks to the Marine corps
I can throw off a warrior vibe
I like to stare down chicks
Just to see what their boyfriends will say
No one dares say anything
They just crumble and walk away
I can flat bench 315
I can dead lift 495
Bodybuilding is my b***h
She ll tell you you're still alive
Focus on the iron mistress
She can tame the savage within
Humbled beneath her plating
She can send you back to begin
Crush you, hurt you, kill you
Sacrifice you to God's on high
Just when you think she loves you
She ll break you and make you cry
She waits for you on the floor
She wants to make you scream
She's got the keys to your fantasy
Of a freak show physique dream
Getting the chicks doesn't matter
Girls don't go for freaks
They just lack imagination
They're nothing but girlie geeks
You march to a different drummer
That most don't understand
Steroids diets and dedication
Inspiration from Anne Rand
Many say you're crazy
Muscle pumped beneath your skin
I'm f*****g invincible
I'm a mortal sin

Is it possible for bodybuilding to actually harm you or in any way do short or long term damage to your physicality? Is there like a line it's not safe to cross with that stuff?

Abusing steroids. Ignoring injuries. The usual stuff that can happen to any athlete.
I'll bet nobody would ever critique your poetry badly, heh. I love your last line, by the way.

I guess she's past the pain barrier beyond the burn. You can build up your body but not your soul. At least you know you are mortal. 10 -4 for a copy come back ricochet, heaven calling.

duuude you make the strongest person in my high school look like a freaking twig! and that includes the gym teachers. People think I'm a freak since I can lift more than most of the kids in my grade, when i'm only 5'4'' and seem to have no muscle on me :P nice dedication, great poem. I like how you personified bodybuilding as a woman, and the bit about how it affects you personally.

Well penned, BR. I figured a long while back you had this type of physique. I like your references to the warrior side of you, and how the weights have influenced your mind as well as your body.

Excellent write.
