Writers blocking

Writers blocking

A Poem by Baby Ricochet
"

Baby Ricochet has been pissed a few people off on Writerscafe. Really? No!

"

    Ricochet's blocked by writers

         Two I know about

One I know his reasons why

        The other I do not

One writer wrote a spiteful poem

   cursing the uniform I wore

Said it brought joy to his heart

When Marines were killed in war

Artistic expression is a good thing

    That much I do agree

Smear the uniform of the corps

 You're gonna hear from me

I wasn't looking to start a flame war

That wasn't my strict intention

There were just a couple of things

I felt compelled to mention

The Marine corps follow orders

With American interests at stake

We went where the president sent us

There was no such thing as debate

Army Air Force Navy Marines

No we don't ask reasons why

We did what was expected of us

That was my review reply

      So I posted my opinions

No swearing threats or name calling

The poem was deleted I was blocked

He must have found me galling

I must have struck a writers nerve

      S**t happens in this biz

The other dude that's blocking me

I don't know what his problem is

Maybe he doesn't like my sewer mouth

and perfurs words dripping with honey

Maybe he doesn't like Jarhead marines

Maybe he doesn't think I'm funny

     Either way it's all okay

I can lived with being blocked

 WritersCafe is not for those

who get their panties in a knot

Author's Note

Baby Ricochet
The guy that was writing trash about US armed forces was an Amrerican. I'll let some of that crap slide from Europeans but Americans? Talk shit about the war and it's architects all you want. But when you start in on the men and women who did the fighting, bleeding, crying and dying cause we were ordered to? No. Bad, very, very bad.
It's that stupid civilian line of " soldiers should ask why" What in the hell kind of army debates orders? You figure that shit out the first two minutes you're 18 year old ass is in boot camp. The other guy who's blocking me I've no clue who he is. I don't recall ever reading his work but he's obviously read mine. I stumbled on him by accident during a conversation between That_girl and Philgod. His posts were kind of snarky so I clicked on him and what do you know, I'm blocked. So I chimed into the conversation and he promptly deleted all his posts. Marines can make a retreat happen even in cyber space. HOORAH!

Ha! Don't worry about people blocking you--I've been blocked by more people than I care to mention on here, and I don't have a clue as to why--nor do I really care. My view is anyone that blocks me must have a problem with my work (or me personally) and as such, it's their problem--let them deal with it. If I've slandered anyone or offended anyone on here, unintentionally, then I'm sorry. I wish someone would tell me why they block me before they do it--that would be nice.
For the most part, when people block me on here, I just forget about them. They obviously have issues.
Except for one. Tate Morgan blocked me--I have no idea why. I really admire his work, and before he blocked me I really enjoyed reading it: he's an EXCELLENT writer; but I must've said or did something wrong (wish I knew what it was) and he just blocked me . . . ah well. C'est la vie.

This guy who was bad mouthing you--he comes from the free, individualistic world of the calm, rationally minded civilian . . . the kind of human being who is not required to kill in order to survive. It's not so much that these civvies hate soldiers as it is that they--very literally--cannot comprehend the world soldiers live in. All they really know is the sheltered peace you guys fight and die to preserve every day, whilst they live on, blissfully ignorant. They can't comprehend hardly anything outside their civvie lives, for that matter; and if they do, they prefer not to dwell on it. To the true liberal civilian, soldiers will always be an enigma . . . they just don't get it.

That doesn't justify this man's slander by any measure, though. Here's a thought: Put him in the desert and surround him with insurgents, men who would gladly tear him to pieces just for being American and over there, and then give him a rifle and say: Survive.
He'll sing a different tune after that, guaranteed.

loved that last stanza... its true people can be too sensitive, but you got to (and I know you will) stay true to yourself and your convictions. Write on Ricochet, continue to live up to your name...

Those four lines sum it up pretty well for me. You did not ask why...your loyal heart went with the best intentions to serve. What is really being questioned by READERS.....is what is the purpose of our Government sending you there? It's this that gives people a wedgie...you just got caught in the middle of their discomfort. With the highest respect...it is not you...that should be judged. Some people...just need to stop wearing the wrong kind of underwear. :P

HA! THat's to funny. THank you so much for reading my work Muse.
Thank you for what you've done. This was my salute to all the men and woman who defend our country from another account which has been closed. I don't write anymore out of choice and I'm not on as much as well so I leave little remnants from my past to those who may care.

Ellie, Ellie, ring your bell,
bring here all the boys,
Summon back the one's who died,
from where they were deployed.

Bandage up their arms and legs,
Take away their fears,
Erase the flashbacks in their minds,
that always re-appear.

Tell them it was just a dream,
The bloody fields are dry,
Pretend you never heard of war,
in case they wonder why.

Don't forget the oceans blue,
there you'll find our men,
The ones who flew or sailed the ships,
that never rose again.

When at last, they've all come home,
and no more tears are shed,
Ellie, they'll be no more taps,
ring your bell instead.

As far as being blocked, I myself have been blocked for reasons unknown. And a far as Tate, I can remember him finding odd ways of getting me to read his work. As I recall, there is even one he did about space with sex as one of the tags? Odd

No problem. and don't think twice about people who block you, speak your mind and be who you are.
Opinions are what makes us all unique and it requires a big pair to speak your mind. For that, I salute you. Saying 'it brings joy to his heart, when marines were killed in war' is bound to get a reaction, especially from somebody who served many years fighting in the Marine corps, such as yourself. Then to block that person for speaking their opinion says one thing to me, that person has issues. Really not worth your time. I think I speak for many others when I say this, you're poetry is really good. That last line had me in stitches lol well written.

Thank you CCCP.
I agree with everyone who posted before me-they expressed their opinion(s) extremely well, and I am truly offended, appalled and angry towards the person who posted his bigotry...

'... cursing the uniform I wore
Said it brought joy to his heart
When Marines were killed in war...'

Anyone who praises death of people, just because those who are defending our country in war, has some serious issues....

Our (and his) freedom of speech is protected by our Marines, Army, Navy, Air Force, etc.

Thank you for your service, sir.

YW. THankyou so much for reading my work Pat.
Ah, the one line that so many ignorant people use to argue their point in a government conspiracy. "Soldiers should ask why they fight before they fight." Though I realize that some soldiers fight blindly without a clue to what they do it for (no offence intended), in the end, orders are orders. No matter what the reason, whether it be actual defending or keeping international peace or, hell, the greed of government officials; I know for a fact you are unable to question the very orders you are given. It's either you follow through with it, or possibly (I imagine) get marked for treason and sent back home for incoordination. However, you should look at the bright side: at least you won't be hearing from him anytime soon, eh?
Having been blocked by the pesky few who heed my critiques as insults, I do comprehend the point of blocking to silence the ones who we no longer want to deal with. I wouldn't worry too much if I were you, allow bygones to be bygones. Unless, of course, he unblocks you and harasses you once again. That is when you bring out the insults.

You know this poem is something that wonderfully represents a point , and adress your feelings and im sure many others in a rhymic and intellegent way.
As to the point of the work itself i always say you put your work up to be laden with opinons and critisism , why delete a piece of work or block a person because of it unless you were simply met with an inablity to respond to smoene's opinon because your own knowledge is limited... that is how it will always look why does noone just defend something they beleive so much and in the odd occasion that the ther person is civiilzed and intellegent, then you get a nice debate going

For sure. Thank you for reading Writers Blocking Anna May
This was very well written. You are very opinionated and should never apologize for that. There are many people on here that do block for no reason and just jump on someone's bandwagon. Happened to me. *shrugs* They never ask the person they're blocking their side. To each their own, I guess, but don't knock something you don't understand. That's just plain dumb in my book.
