Straight dudes need gay friends

            for all the cloths you buy

                 you're six years old

               and you're color blind

 

              Gay dude decorates your crib

                    oh so tasteful and arty

 

                 Left to your own devices

                   your place would look

                        salvation army

 

            We had gay dudes in the corps

              they were here and there

 

           They just kept it to themselves

                and no one really cared

 

             This is for you homophobes

               across every single state

 

          What do you think gay dudes will do

That last line made me chuckle. There were lots of gay people in the Navy during my time, too, but mostly female. If a guy was discovered to be gay, they'd kick him out in a heart beat, but if it was a female, the Navy would look the other way. Not being a homophobe, I always got along with them and never snitched. A person should be judged by their character and job performance, and not who they like to sleep with.

This is cute.. I would of titled it Gay Dudes...cause you use that more then Gay friends through out most of the poem. LOL ... I have gay friends who also help me when my wife and daughter aren't around. doing night gentle reminder's that my close don't match or that I shouldn't wear THAT shirt with THOSE pants (or shoes) .. LOL.
