Little Runaway

Little Runaway

A Poem by Denise Tinker

You're one lost girl thinking you're all alone
Shut out from the things you've known
Cried tears with no evidence shown
Baby girl let me embrace you
Cry as hard as you want
I'm right here
Speak words your heart hums
Little girl lost in a broken world is what you have become
Tell me little girl how you feel
Tell me why you're broken
Minimum joys and maximum pain
Spells your very name
Your outcries are unheard
But I know those feelings too
Hearing things and believing your feelings are nothing are so untrue
Please baby girl stay strong
FIGHT through
Your storms, they do come
But take your sweet memories and
RUN!
Run somewhere safe and fun
But always know that love and real family waits
In a place you truly want to call
HOME!
