Please make me a promise...

Make me a promise
that you won't let it reach you.
Show me
that you truly have strength.
Act
 like there will be something better.
You don't really
 pretend you're okay.
It hurts
more than you know to see this happen.
If you really cared
about the rest than you would accept what I tell you.
But no.
Just make me a promise
that you'll try to listen next time.

very well-said. a friend can be known as a good friend , apropos bad friend, when he/she makes you cry with your things, events, mistakes, and not laughing with you in your things, events, mistakes. a good friend is the one who is there when you cry, but the bad one is only there when you laugh. a good friend lives inside you, and is a candle that alight the way along, cantrast one who is like your shadow when in darkness it will begone. thanks for sharing, it was very meaningful.

Only a true friend would write this poem. It's great that you expressed your sensitivity to the situation: 'It hurts more than you know to see this happen.' Sometimes a person, such as the one you have addressed, fails to realize how their actions affect those who care about them. By expressing your hurt, perhaps you have helped this person more than you know. I hope and pray that your poem will have a healing effect on this person. Thanks for sharing.

Wow. Deep, as Cameron would say. I'm sorry she won't listen, I'm sure she is, too. I kind of have a problem with my own friend.. She said that she doesn't understand how it could hurt so much when she doesn't show the hurt.. I don't get it either..
