Reflections Of You

Reflections Of You

A Poem by Accalia
"

this was written in memory for my brothers, Grandpa, as well as two of my best friends who have all passed away.

"
Reflections Of You

We hoped it might pass

That it wouldn’t last-

You faced it alone some time in the night.

I should have been here

To say one last goodnight-

I wonder if you knew it from the start

Your eyes let out that hopeless stare-

As you gaze to the end of it all

You met death with such flair-

My eyes are dry, but my tears flow inside

When I gaze in the mirror I think I see you-

When we were ignorant

And time seemed infinite-

A crack appears on this smooth surface

Where it breaks it takes down your visage-

Destroys that one image

I stare at myself again-

It’s over the leaves fell too soon.

Summer was beginning, but winter’s cold ice set in,

And destroyed that which could have been

Everything that we began-

Now I stand here in our favourite place

I think back and remember

Long we enjoyed both laughter and shame-

Now I wish everything could be the same

If not for me, for those you held dear,

I do wish that you could still be here

Theses sad things that followed

Could you have stopped them?

Or did time’s great design-

Plan this all along?

When you gazed in your crystal ball-

Did you glimpse this fate

Did you see the end of it all?

I hope you were happy-

With blissful ignorance

When you said; “I’ll see you tomorrow.”

Wherever you are I hope flowers still bloom.

Cover that darkness and shut back your doom

Once you said: “I’m with you to the end.”

That saying held no meaning-

The never seem to, until death’s scythe stilled your breathing,

I still have tomorrow

But you ended on yesterday-

It’s hard to move one

But I know though you’re gone, you’d want me to stay strong,

Today I saw your face

This one last time-

Wrapped in death’s embrace

I hope your pain is gone-

I touch your cold cheek

I’ll sing your last song-

The one that you threw out

And said sounded wrong-

Someday I hope we’ll meet again

In a place where light shines-

I know you will wait ‘til then

For now I’ll walk alone-

Ah sh*t
You took the words right out of month.
This is how I was feeling every time to go visit the hospital and I'm trying hard to hide my depression and anxiety. But I pray that she will live through this. Please don't let Death embrace her yet...

This is beautiful! Good job
