Grace

Grace

A Poem by Delilah

And it's funny the way you put us into two categories,
either I'm the good girl or the s**t
and it's infuriating how you're everything
should I strip myself of any power to please you?
Must i always pretend to believe your lies?
Buried deeper I continue sinking into myself
I'm a b***h, a s**t, a w***e, a....
Did you have anything else to add to that list?
Each morning, I do my hair and paint my face
i dress myself with the utmost care
high heels, legs shaved
feminine, women, girls
grace.

it's terrible that we're labeled in such derogatory ways. if we weren't strong enough we might believe those lies about ourselves. we can't help it if we take care of ourselves and that we're beautiful, smart, and assertive. who cares what other people think. they don't pay our bills. great job.

You cannot please everybody.
Don't depend your happiness from only one person. If that person don't give you a single glance, but instead more insults and lies, it's time to turn your back against this person and move on. Stay beautiful not because of someone else but because of yourself.

Nice rant.
