lipstick

A Poem by Delilah

Lipstick staining the bottom of my cigarette, a man in the distance his outline is so hazy and I cannot make out his face. I had a dream about you, as you came into my bed and hopped right out. I knew about you from the moment we met. Vodka in one hand and beer in the other I drank from morning to night hoping to understand and willing myself to forget. Eyeliner smeared I haven't showered for days the pain so real I feel it every second of the day. I count the hours till sundown, count the hours till I'm alone. How did I become so pathetic?
