evasive meaning

evasive meaning

A Poem by dele

"The question here is not so much who is right and who is wrong (since this kind of judgement is going to depend ultimately on the values you bring to the debate). Rather, these examples serve to illustrate the idea that there is invariably always more than one way of seeing reality. This is not simply because 'people are different', but rather it's something that reflects the fundamental nature of being. What counts as social reality is a matter of interpretation. That is, whatever we call reality is the product of many things, both individual (my values, assumptions, interests, prejudices and so forth) and social (the values, assumptions, interests, prejudices and so forth that appear solidly ingrained into the cultural life of the society in which we live)." So perhaps, morals ethics, love, humanity are a waste of time. Some may find this nihilistic, but we're all ending up in the same place. When the star that sustains us ceases to pulsate with thermonuclear energy, when the mass of rock we inhabit turns dark, when the orbit we've followed faithfully for so long, slows into non-existence, then...what will it all have been for?
