A Poem by dele

your lover’s left you
and mine has too left me
alone but yet together,
we mourn what used to be
i do not need to tell you
the loss that breaks me down
or what happened to my heart -
yours too has made that sound
sometimes i catch you make –that- face,
eyes glazed and far away,
as if by staring hard enough,
you’d bring back yesterday
i smile cos in u i see me,
but cry cos of that too.
to know my grief’s so plain to see,
as it reflects in you.
i tell u;

“it’s better this way,
it’s better for your health,
to lose a love that hurt so much”

if only i convinced myself.
