A Poem by dele

don’t give others the impression im dining a prostitute.

don’t give others the impression im dining a grandmother.

don’t eat like the food scares you. if this thing works out, im going to see you eat normally sooner or

later. and by comparison, it will look documentary-ish.

and don’t order the salad. Even if you want the salad. I wont believe you got those curves on leaves no

matter how rehearsed the routine.

we’re not sixteen anymore so no faux airs. I’d rather like to know you now than find out I hate you

later.

talk more than I do. Although, from experience this seems to be a virtual certainty.

eventually trap me into thinking that seeing you is a choice.

don’t call me afterwards. Ive just seen you.

call me afterwards, I miss you slightly.
