an incredulous intelligenceA Poem by delapruchna.sharing 98.2% of the same DNA with the chimpanzees who caged amongst us mighty humans, sit there for our amusement, scratching their a*s & waiting for the next kid in the zoo to press their stupid face up to the glass, we march around as if our intelligence was something special, never pondering for a moment that while we treat those so very much like us with an embarrassing lack of hospitality, there may very well be others, elsewhere, outside our little pubic planet, who have just a little bit more than what we have, a situation in which WE hold only 98.2% of what they do, a situation in which the cages are being sprayed out, so that sooner or later, it is US that will be on display (the “lucky” members of our decrepit species), so that their own little extraterrestrial rug-rats unaware of their callow precocity, can watch us play with our own feces, masturbate & pick at the bugs & fleas in our hair, while we quietly wish that we hadn’t been so pretentious when looking at the life around us, having taken more time to think before our proverbial leaps.
