kind faces

kind faces

A Poem by delapruch
"

na.

"

in a moment of true tragedy

when reaching, grasping for anything

to stop the blood from gushing

to hold the bone so that it will not tear

permanent damage &

the first person to discover just what has happened

may flee the scene because they don’t want to be involved

or they just don’t have the time

in the busy life they chose,

there eventually arrives a kind face,

that is, if you are reading this, as i am writing this,

someone, somewhere along the way

regarded the situation in which our own ability to fend for

ourselves, being hindered (with an open-ended time frame),

was one in which they could in fact be involved &

they did have the time

in their own busy life

to at least drag our bleeding selves from the street to the curb

or to heave with the heimlich &

though such an instant may be fleeting &

though such a face may never be seen again,

one is left with the want that they may some day

get to personally thank such a face---

pure & simple.
