the proverbial kool-aidA Poem by delapruchna.ya drank the kool-aid, didn’t you? thought nobody was looking thought that there was something that you were missing thought that you’d take just an itty bitty sip thought that when you did, you could just get up & walk away thought that your friends, family & neighbors might not think you’d be the type wanted to be in the loop wanted to know what the big hype was all about wanted to have more than what you see wanted to know more than what you know wanted to experience all those experiences that you read, hear & see on tv wanted to try everything & anything (cause’ you only live so long, after all) wanted to be an adult in a room full of children wanted to get everybody off your back, so you thought you’d step out & through the door marked SAP--- such simple temptations are for simple brains simple brains seeking a way out of everything & such ways out of everything don’t f*****g exist, but it takes an idiot to find out they’re an idiot by sticking their hand in the cookie jar to find out a rat got there first to get bit by the rat & go running to mommy & mommy’s teets are your churches, your temples & your mosques & mommy’s teets is your uncle sam & mommy’s teets cost for a suckle, mommy’s teets cost for a squeeze & mommy’s teets are there as long as you’re ok with your very own enslavement…
