two friends

made a pact together

to do each other in---

one with the inability

to get pregnant, whose

partner just wasn’t

pulling his weight anymore,

hell, her most paranoid

might’ve been right

in assuming that after

finding this out he was

looking elsewhere to

spread his seed &

her friend who had been

diagnosed in her early

twenties with a

mental illness which she

was terrified she might

pass on to whatever

child she might have in

the future (regardless of

those optimistic gamblers

who say it hops generations).

 

together they celebrated the

“holiday,” by dragging the

blades up their wrists after

ingesting large quantities of

pills, together they spit on

this existence, together they

felt cheated of what others

walk around neglecting, of

what others actually get

infuriated at (yelling at their

children), together they dealt

with this place as best they

could, together they said

“no longer” to everything &

bled throughout the night

holding each other in the growing

pool of blood, sleeping in

the arms of one another until

the heart beats finally stopped

the torment.
