if death came knocking

if death came knocking

A Poem by delapruch
"

na.

"

if only death would come

knocking

when it needed to be paid

attention to,

when its reality & inevitability

could solve so very many

fruitless & futile arguments

which rip & tear up

loving relationships,

families that normally stick

together &

warm friendships gone so

cold.

if death showed its face

after that first little lie,

after that first slip up,

after that first wrong thing said,

after that first rubbing of

the wrong way,

after that first stupid action,

it might bring one’s

priorities to

light, in the way that it always

will,

eventually,

if you care about someone.

death levels us all,

it mellows one out,

it stops a flow of unprofitable

anger, which has pulsated through

the years,

by killing of every friend one has &

leaving a solitary individual alone

with the notion that,

there had been hardly any time at all

spent with them &

how quickly all those relationships had

broke apart like an egg that can crashing

down on the concrete---

all due to a matter of little significance

when seen in retrospect.

yes, we all know “hindsight is 20/20,”

but if death would come knocking

(but alas, not killing), there would be a

lot less arguing over

bullshit.
