Today's Someday

Today's Someday

A Poem by Ryan Patrick Walsh

It’s 11:37,

The world’s a vocab quiz

and it’s testing my present,

I’m fresh out of words and waiting to fail,

does anyone have the answers?

sick of this bating game

and how bout her?

The girl waiting with the eraser shavings,

do you have a sharpener for these dull days

that I may borrow?

Too much time and too much love,

Let’s f**k the patient life we stuck,

Unglue cuz’ there’s no room

for a pace above to swallow now,

We’ll move through staying till we’re through,

No more lines for right or wrong or fools

to grow old with,

just the unconscious collective

of our youthful minds moving in circles,

me and you holding hands

till the London bridge loosens,

waiting for our future selves

but for now I sit,

waiting on the answers,

It’s 11:45.
