Western Winds

Western Winds

A Poem by Deepwater
"

Southern Fleets

"

Western winds tease southern skies

This September on the bay

The morning nip gives warning signs

Fisherman, winter is moving our way

Masts and sails in need of repair

Storms will blow here soon

Prepare for worst this offshore life

Fresh fish we catch for you

The fleet is blessed, and prays to God

The gulls fly high on wing this day

Loading supplies for morning tide

Setting sails we steer our way

And head for southern skies

Thank you for this review
You have captured both the excitement and fear of a journey fishermen take everyday.

Well done.

I so love this poem… it speaks so vividly of how free nature is and does not abide by mans ideals of how it should be… oh how I want to be that free.
