Do you remember, days long ago? Carefree all summer, we strolled hand in hand, First kiss real awkward, I stole in the dark, Nights at the disco, lazy days at the park, Were you the first love that still haunts my heart? What of the promise, to never part, Daydream of yesteryears what fun we engaged, White knights in satin revolve in my brain, Would I remember, if seeing you today? How life has changed me, when you walked away. Do you remember?
Once upon a time, once when you were mine...I remember stars, mirrored in your eyes.
I love the Moody Blues, and I really enjoyed your touching, sweet poem on young love, Deepwater. Well done (no pun intended. Well...Deepwater...get it? Oh, never mind, LOL).
This is a lovely gentle poem that can be read on several levels - either as a sad adult parting, or (from the associated picture) a wistful recollection from that transient period between childhood and adolescence..
I liked it very much.
Youth, the long Summer day and the good memory. I like the way you led the reader to old places and good memory. I like the question at the ending. I wonder also. Do old lovers and friends remember the days when we knew laughter and freedom? Didn't fear anything. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
