The origin of all thingsA Story by NoeldeeptzIt is a discourse between two men, the younger wanting to know what the older believes to be the origin of all things.
(By the shores of the great river of Æsera)
Noel- the dawn has only just burst forth, yet you are here, I fear Claudius that you punish yourself much Claudius- me punish me!!! I am not half your age nor the age your last child will be, yet you say I punish myself! no, I do much good to sit here now and behold the birth of the day Noel- you forget my mother bore me on this very shore on the day of the great wave, when the sea jumped enthusiastically and none knew why it did not carry me or my mother away Claudius- is that why you come here? To know why? Noel- no claudius, I come here to behold the birth of a nobel day an..... Claudius- just the same I have come to do Noel- you didn't let me finish, I come here every dawn to behold the birth of a new day and all I see is its growth, I fear none can know the time the day is born, all can only see the day grow. Some like us who go out at dawn merely see the day when it is yet much adolescent Claudius- That births the day That turns the time, That exists first, I quest just as all seekers To know and understand the "what" that rules all things and is itself not ruled, That brings to being all that we know and itself fades out not, What is it that father's all? Speak wise one, for you are blessed by the unknown "what" with the deep eyes that sees into the abyss of unravelled knowledge. What is it that births all things? Noel- the father of all things you ask? Claudius- yes wise one Noel- why do you call me wise? I did not bring forth wisdom neither did I create her, like all, I run after her and do not have her yet. You seek the source of all things from which all come, the origin of all things to which all can be traced, Our nation is built of tribes, tribes clans, clans families, families individuals. Our fathers are individuals born by other fathers, they are our origin. The origin of all is its father and has life, for only life begets. Some say it is the being invisible Yes Claudius, it is plausible, That he birth all things, For I have sought that which was before all others, That in knowing I might be closer to the origin of all Claudius- could it be water? Noel- hmmm, water would need a bed, for it would not lie on nothing or it fall to nothingness in the abyss. Claudius- then it is the water bed. Noel- and what would the water bed be resting on? What is its foundation? What of the pillars that keeps it hanging? So you do not say the pillars, what are they standing on too? They stand on something, And that is still the origin The one origin of all things. Claudius- could there not be two origins? Creation flowing from here and yet there, Having not one father but two? Noel- if there are, there is only one that is the father. For of the two origins, we ask, who is the senior origin that beget the other that beget all things? And if one did not beget the other we ask who the senior father is that beget them both? The origin of all things is one Some say it is the being invisible and Claudius, it is possible.
