Wishing on a Wishing Star

An old poem that I really love!

I'm wishing upon a star

A star I imagine, but don't see.

I'm waiting for my wish to come true...

I can't tell you what I've wished

No, that would only give the game away.

But if my wish come true

I'll be able to tell you;

Oh yes, I'll happily tell you then

Outside I'm as cool as a cucumber

But inside I'm reeling.

Reeling with conflicting emotions

Of impatience, hope, nervousness,

As well as anger and frustration. 

Because if my wish doesn't come true

I don't know what I'll do.
