Schizophrenia

Guys...Schizophrenia is a psychiatric disease that is very common in today's age. This poem is just an endeavour to make people more aware of this disease.

Schizophrenia

Voices screaming, like a heavy metal band,

I cover my ears and eyes with my hand.

I tell myself I have to be brave.

I wonder yet again, what part of my brain will I save.

For a few minutes, it’s just sanity I crave.

Hallucinations, people whispering in my head

All the moments of fear that I dread.

All, I want to be is totally free,

Schizophrenia, Please don’t do this to me.

Battles and wars going on in my head,

All the unanswered prayers before I go to bed.

My loved ones drift apart,

What I want is a fresh start.

You might think I am mad, Can you feel my pain?

Do you know what I would do just to be sane again.

Dear God, Please heal my brain.
