The princess's tale.A Poem by Deepshikha DeThe princess's tale She lay shattered, disillusioned, on the floor As her lover walked out of the door. There were tears , she let them flow Were they happy or sad? She did not know. Was she relieved to be free of possession, Or whether her love was a mere obsession. She was a princess who ruled the whole nation, Yet all she longed for was liberation. She could have had her lover beheaded; after all she was a princess How dare he pursue another woman, it was all a mess. By now you know, this is not a fairy tale, So if you want a happy ending, reading this would be an epic fail. This princess did not want a happily ever after, She plotted with vengeance; she wanted to punish her lover. Poison would be the best solution to make her lover suffer. However , she thought there should be a twist in the plot, She summoned the “other” lady , they would make him rot. So one Friday night, they brewed a pot, Of the deadliest poison they could get their hands on, So they created a deadly substance which weighed a ton. And between the two ladies there was a secret bond, And of each other, they grew very fond. The “other” lady was cunning and vile, She put the poison into the pudding with a crooked smile. The lover fell into a deep sleep, He learnt his lesson to not treat ladies so cheap. As for the princess, she found a dream prince, However if the prince misbehaved, She would make him disappear in a whiff. So this is the end of the princess’s story, I apologize if you found the details too gory.
