My Desert Rose

My Desert Rose

A Poem by deepshade

My Desert Rose is dark as night

The moon reflects off her petals

As an owl takes flight.

My Desert Rose is blushing

While the noon sun lights her face

The world stills as she sighs.

A gentle wind on my neck

Should warm my skin

But makes me cry.

My Desert Rose, How I miss you

Why dose the morning bring your warmth

Why dose the midnight moon bear your face.

My Desert Rose has closed

Her petals soft as silk

Breathing her final sigh.

I look up at the rising sun

And see your smile

I look out at the setting sun

And see how peaceful you sleep.

My Desert Rose why did you leave

I still have love in me for you

Every time I look up

I say: “One more time, Smile for me….

My Desert Rose”
