In another time or place
I can be free with you
deliverance to solace
I could be seen in your arms
I could feel the warmth of your embrace
as you lead me into our safety place
preventing any harm from scraping my spirit
as you tenderly kiss and caress my face
and my lips are yours to take and to taste
how capable you are, of breaking this horrific reality
a gifted release of this life's insanities
if only we were in that time and place
I could be freed from this disastrous race
discovering happiness with a smile encased
something this world has destroyed and erased
I dream of being calmly situated within your grace
as I stare into your eyes and gently stroke your face
kissing your lips, taking in all of its taste
as I dream of this beautiful other time and place
you are never selfish and you adore me
you truly see me, you endure me,
your words so loving, you nourish my soul
No pun intended, but this poem has a wonderfully chocolaty dreamy creamy feel, intoxicating as you shift from dream to reality. I felt my heart spinning in the tenderness of a wish held in upturned hands, of eyes wide in cool tones, imaging multi-hued leaves falling silently as the room begins to spin. Then the fade, to wakefulness and harshness and that sinking feeling of a dream lush, just out of reach, the aftertaste bittersweet. Wonderful, wonderful poem.

It sounds like a relationship that isn't meant to be right now, but it's obvious that the two are supposed to be together. It reminds me of something where two people can't really be together until they die and get reincarnated. I liked this poem.
