Mindful

Mindful

A Poem by Livi Mariotti
"

Do not let your head get to your head

"

Would you be ever so kind

As to forgive my questioning mind?

I think I may have lost it,

Or maybe I found it,

Found too much for it to handle.

I may be out of my mind,

Or could I be in my mind?

Locked in my mind.

Trapped in my mind.

Can I be out of my mind, inside my mind?

Oh, I hope you don't mind my mind.

I am not quite sure where it is.

I am certainly all over the place,

Not on a steady pace,

I need to stay mindful, how must I practice mindfulness?

I meditate,

Try to clear my mind,

Do not overthink it,

Maybe take a break and sit,

Wash away my troubled thoughts,

Rest,

Do not let my head get to my head.

Stay mindful,

But my eyes are left tearful,

As I question this mind of mine.

"The mind is a beautiful thing", as they say and so is yours. Nice job. Sometimes we have to lose it to find it. We can't find what isn't lost. Focus on the heart & the mind will follow.
