Goddess of Fire

Goddess of Fire

A Poem by Declan Cooney
"

(A gift inspired by "The Sight" by Deadlypyro [deviantart])

"
"Taunted
The burns overturn
To ashes in an urn
Radiating the remnants
Of what was left to learn
And it turns out
That fire is more than a toy
Man's first feat
Will eventually destroy
This atrocity of animosity
Its just a napalm bomb
Being tossed to me
And acid rain, is precipitating
Over America's head
I'm reading books on manipulating fire
And raising the dead
Chained to your morals
And linked to your past
I'm moving the future
And bringin it fast
The level of my hate
Rises faster and higher
And I'll make love to your destruction
With my Goddess of Fire."

The beginning line of radiating remanants sticks to my memory after reading this free style. I like the rhythm that it keeps, almost a rocking motion that a fire itself has.
However, there is something missing in this section=
"And acid rain, is precipitating
Over America's head
I'm reading books on manipulating fire
And raising the dead"
It holds the same beat and conitnues to rhyme. However, the words don't seem to flow as well. Just something to mull over! =P
