Simply Me

Simply Me

A Poem by Scarlett

I don't want to say

what my heart is saying

But I feel the need to

cave in.

I don't want to recite

what my mind is reciting

But I feel the need to

speak out.

I don't want to be confused

anymore

But I feel the need to

stay that way.

I don't want to know

everything

But I feel the need to

be aware.

Why can't I

be free, be words, be love, be knowledge?

Why can't I

fly, speak, kiss, and know?

I don't want to be trapped

in this whirlpool of black

Nothing grasps at me; I just

swirl.

I don't want to be chained

to my own heart

Feelings thud against the wall

hard.

I don't want to hurt

anymore.

Cut the chains!

Let me fly!

Let me go.

Excellent poem, and unique writing style. I think the message is great here, like Coyote Poetry said, Life is to be lived. I liked the last three lines, very powerful. Great job :)

Those decision and action we must do. It seem like all thing have bad and good reaction. A excellent poem. Life is to be lived. Not waiting and hoping. Need to cut the chains and fly free.

I guess sometimes we want to do things and not be bound to what might be inside of us telling us otherwise.
