Sweet Temptation (a poem by debileah aka deborah leah krempa)A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa
There are some women that will lead a man Into sweet temptation With just the batting of an eye I never was that kind
Just a simple country girl That’s all I’ll ever be So babe, if a high society lady Is what you’re searching for, it’s not me
So many rags to riches stories I grew up on hand me downs I still fall to tears when I watch “Old Yeller” Sad movies always make me cry
My daddy fought in World War II While mama danced and sang on stage In a burlesque café She let go of the neon lights, and fame
When she took my daddy’s name Took to cooking up homemade apple pies While bringing up her babies Singing to them Irish lullabies
There are some women that will lead a man Into sweet temptation Without a moments hesitation She steps on toes with her high heel stilettos
She doesn’t’ mind tarnishing the shine Of the golden band You wear so nonchalantly on your left hand The proof that you are my man
Until death us do part, my love Don’t tread those uncharted waters Leaving me broken hearted Crying on my knees if you should ever leave
There are some women that will lead a man Into sweet temptation With the just the batting of an eye I never was that kind © 2011 Deborah Leah KrempaAuthor's Note
