Clouds In The Sky... A Second Chance (a poem by debileah aka deborah leah krempa)

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

Clouds in the sky, a second chance
Look up into the heavens, as far as you can see
Out there is eternity, the way life was meant to be
Up so far beyond one's own imagination
Don't you know we came from beyond the stars
Sunrise to sunset, we watch the sky in awe of it

I wonder sometimes about how it all began
Not so concerned about how it may end, as all things must

Thinking about how we wonder of heaven and hell
How will we fare, when we arrive there
Every now and then, as a poet, I ponder these things

Sky so azure blue, clouds so soft, fluffy, white
Keep shining oh bright nova that warms the earth
Your destiny is our fate, as we stand at the gate...

A second chance, such a romantic notion, a conscious thought

Stars that twinkle in the night sky, as I sleep and dream
Entertaining my own ideas, questioning my own mortality
Coldness of winter winds swirling, the color of blue turns gray
Open fields in the spring, flowers bud and bloom, birds sing
Nestling in the warmth of sultry summer days...
Dried leaves fall so gently from the forests trees

Chances are that I might make a wish upon a falling star
Hoping for my life to be a dance like that of the daffodils
A second chance, has been gifted to me, to breathe again
Nostrils filled with the freshest air, nothing can compare
Crying tears of joy and sorrow, uncertain of tomorrow
Elements of life, I behold, as I watch the clouds in the sky

Don't you know we came from beyond the stars

I love that line most of all

When one has a close call with death, the world never looks the same again, for me it is also all the more beautiful, like your poem.

I read your note first, and was stunned. Oh, Debileah, so thankful for your life.. and your blessing of more days.. Your words inspired us all to value the precious world around us.. and within us.

I've been there, too, and know how you come out of it with somewhat different eyes for the world. The daffodils are blooming---isn't it wonderful?

Sometimes it takes a traumatic event to help us focus, reassess and evaluate our life; what is important and what is trivial.

I found a flowing emphasis of hope intertwined within the verses of your composition; a renewal of spirit and a thankful heart. Very poignant, yet uplifting at the same time!

An enjoyable read.
