A Letter To Bobby #3 (a poem by debileah aka deborah leah krempa)

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

Honey, it’s been quite a while
Since I’ve written any poetry
Been three and a half years
Since you crossed over
Sure miss you sweetheart
Just wanted to let you know
I realize the time has come
For me to move on with my life
Been in mourning too long
A sad song in my heart
It’s time to let go
Allow your spirit to be free
I must admit
This is so hard for me
I love you so much
My darling son

By the way, honey
I got a new apartment
Just the other day
Finally leaving
The nightmare on Elm Street
Behind me
Been a rough road
For your sisters and me
We were left so all alone
We will survive this storm

Be sure to tell your dad
Hello for me
I am no longer angry with him
His life was such a tragedy
And I, loved him too much for my own good
Bobby, I hope I honored you well
Taking your ashes to Arlington National Cemetery
Instead of the “Rez” as you so desired
I know in my heart
I made the right decision
May your spirit soar with the wings of the bald eagle
May you become one with God’s creation
May the Great Spirit guide your course
As you sail amidst the heavens

That was so honest and heart-wrenching. Almost had me in tears.
