Suffer Not The Little ChildrenA Poem by Deborah Leah KrempaSuffer not the little children Up in the air, balloons they do fly From this telephone pole, as the children cry For there was an accident that happened here Every anniversary that goes by, the children cry Robert & Amanda are with us, no more
No longer can she dry the tears from her tiny son't eyes Or hold him to her breast, or cradle him in her loving arms There was an accident that happened here, not so long ago
The world will miss out on a fine young science teacher He could have become one, & fulfilled his dreams Even had a wife & a few kids of his own
Like I said, an accident happened here, not so long ago I am the mother of a son killed by a drunk driver This story is horribly true, as we mother's are left utterly blue Two people were killed on that dreadful night of April 15th 2007 Little gal by the name of Amanda & my boy Bobby, died at the scene Everyday, I think of them, it just isn't fair that they are gone
Chased down by the police, as the drunk driver tried to flee He got caught, it took six long agonizing months to put him behind bars I shudder to think about it but I do, everyday of my life Little Xavier is a cute little guy, he was hurt real bad in that wreckage Darling little toddler of 4 yrs old, he will always miss his mommy Remembering his daddy Adam, who was critically injured as well Each wearing scars that will never fade, especially in their hearts No one can dry the tears the children cry, as the balloons do fly © 2010 Deborah Leah Krempa |
