Hung Over From The Night Before

Hung Over From The Night Before

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

Hung over from the night before

Unsure if I can find the door

Now crawling on hands & knees

Got to find my way out of here

Outside to get some fresh air

Vomit on my clothes is rank

Everybody know I got too drunk

Reeking of stale alcohol as I crawl

Fighting the dee tees is not for me

Rehab is out of the question

Outside the door I sit here for a spell

My head aches with a migrane

The birds are singing too loudly

Hurts my ears with all their chattering

Empty bottles & cans all over the place

Night before is a blur to me

I can just guess I made a fool of myself

Got to find my way out of here

Hung over from the night before

Too dizzy to stand on my own two feet

Broken beer bottle lying next to me

Empty ashtray with contents spilled over

Frothing at the mouth with wet saliva

Outside the sun is arising

Red & swollen eyes I squint

Everybody knows I got too drunk
